The longest cable-stayed bridge in Europe withstands the 4.5 times more powerful earthquake and winds up to 250 km/h.

This cable-stayed bridge, the longest in Europe after the Crimean one, was built taking into account the curvature of the Earth and can withstand an earthquake 4.5 times stronger than the 1755 earthquake and winds of up to 250 km/h. Inaugurated just before the 1998 Universal Exhibition, after three years of work, it crosses the Tagus d'Oriente to the south and the municipalities of Montijo and Alcochete. Conceived by the French engineer Jean Vassord, this highway viaduct appears endless, 17,185 m long, including nearly 13,000 m above the Tagus.

Très joli pont avec une structure identique au célèbre pont de San Francisco. Juste à coté le magnifique christ qui lui, vous transporte à Rio !

Allez vous promener sur les rives et ses pistes cyclables pour de jolies ballades et une très belle vue sur le Tage

Je n'ai pas traverser le pont mais vu de loin depuis le Cristo Rei et ensuite depuis l'avion, on est passé juste au dessus et il est vraiment impressionnant.

Magnifique pont à la périphérie de la ville de Lisbonne et qui permet d'enjamber le Tage. Sur plusieurs kilomètres au milieu de l'eau, la vue est très belle. En tant que conducteur, il est difficile de rester concentré sur la route car on est tenté d'admirer le paysage.
