Hotel with terrace that offers rooms decorated with African and contemporary art.

In a paved street near the castle, this small palace with its orange facade contains a dozen rooms, decorated with African and contemporary works of art selected by the former owner, the Portuguese painter Luís Lemos. Part of the hotel was previously used as a workshop. Each room has a small library of antique books. Some are duplex, with television and stereo. The marble bathrooms are sumptuous and the terrace where you can have breakfast is a real plus.

Superb boutique hotel with great views across Lisbon from most rooms. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant and bar offers nice reasonably priced food and drinks. Just the location up 132 exhausting steps is worth considering, particularly for those with mobility issues.
