A beautiful hostel in an old palace, it has a good restaurant.
Located in the lively Bairro Alto district, this former palace has been converted into a hostel. As soon as you enter the large reception hall, the atmosphere is retro, with a grand staircase leading to the three floors. To the right of the reception, at the back, is the restaurant Decadente. It has made a name for itself thanks to its revisited Portuguese cuisine to be tasted in a warm setting, in good weather the shaded terrace at the back is a plus.

Den ligger meget centralt i forhold til barer og klubber.
Vi havde værelse ud imod vejen og lige over entredøren. Hvilket gjorde at alle vores nætter var forstyrret af støj.
Selve navnet "The Independente Hostel & Suites" er meget misledende i forhold den Standart stedet levere. Morgenmaden var som man forestillede sig på et Hostel, ( rigtig god, fin morgenmad og servicen fantastisk varm)
Men når man ankommer og får en voucher på 10 % på hotels Restaurants, hvilket er i samme lokaler som morgen maden, ædre alt sig.
Når det er restaurant om aftenen prøver de på at være en fin gourmet restaurant. Hvilken passer slet ikke ind, Derudover er maden skide dyrt og slet ikke besøget værd eller pengene. Selv med 10% er det bare ikke et Hostel stemning og det værd at spise der.
Vi har booket dette sted blandt andet fordi at der var skybar.
Men da vi ankom fik vi at vide, at det var lukket på grund af renovering.
Så er det ikke smart at man som hotel udlejer skybaren ud til private, så folk der ikke bor på stedet kan få drinks og sidde og nyde udsigten, men kan dem der bor på stedet ikke ????????????
Vi føler der bliver lagt vægt på skybaren når hotellet skal sælge sig selv.
Dette syntes vi at skulle have været oplyst et sted inden når man booker gennem en booking side. Fordi så havde vi fundet et andet sted med en åben skybar.
個人的にベットと、トイレ＋シャワールームが離れているのと、部屋が広いのが良かった。
Taking off two stars for two things: the creaky 3-high-stacked beds and the conditions of the rest/shower rooms.
I was lucky enough to have stayed at the bottom bunk and didn’t suffer the blinding lights and difficult stairs. However, whenever the 3rd bunk moved, all three beds would move. I’m a light sleeper, I try to help it by using ear plugs and an eye mask- but it could get pretty difficult to sleep when you’re woken up by your bed creaking, and swaying side to side.
The condition of the bathroom was subpar at best. There was panties hung on one hook for the two nights I stayed there, I think staff should’ve taken the initiative and thrown it out. I doubt they did even when I left. The shower mats were sliding while in use. I was very cautious while showering since I slipped probably 3 times.
Overall, this would have been the perfect hostel for me in Lisboa. I love the city very much. I would’ve loved to come back to this hostel due to its location but I’d have to think twice about doing so in the future.
