Henri Willig is a family business, producing cheese in the Netherlands since 1974. Today, it's a heavyweight in the sector, with 30 stores in several European countries, museums in the Netherlands, and farms that can be visited - including the one in Katwoude. It's a fun and very interesting visit, as the farm is still in operation. You'll learn a lot about the cheese-making process, as well as the local wildlife. And, of course, there's a store with tasting facilities at the end of the tour. Highly recommended!

Henri Willig is a family business that has been making delicious Gouda cheese since 1974. Our cheeses are enjoyed every day by cheese lovers in over 30 of our own stores, and the cheeses then travel all over the world. For Henri Willig, every cheese dish or snack board is truly special.
Jacobs Hoeve Jersey cheese farm and organic farm
Katwoude is located on the IJsselmeerdijk between Monnickendam and Volendam. The rural environment, with its farms, is typical of the North Holland polders, the breeding ground for the famous Dutch cheeses. At the foot of the dike is the atmospheric Jacobs Hoeve. When you arrive, our staff in original costumes will show you how the cheese is made. The pleasant store offers a wide selection of exclusive Henri Willig cheeses, souvenirs and typical Dutch delicacies. Currently, we offer a small selection of organic sliced cheese, fresh from the knife.
Since 2018, it's also possible to visit Henri Willig's organic Jersey farm. Admission and parking are free.
