This museum is the result of the merger between the Scheveningen Museum and the Museum of the Sea. It is organised along two axes: the history of the village of Scheveningen and its main activity at the time: fishing. Navigation instruments, traditional costumes, ship models and documents on various fishing techniques are present. The museum is also a must for shellfish lovers, with more than 25,000 specimens brought back from all the seas by these great Dutch travellers. Temporary exhibitions are also organized.
