Beautiful museum for admirers of beautiful books, housed in the former home of Baron Van Westreenen Van Tiellandt in The Hague

Close to the main station, this very beautiful museum for admirers of fine books is housed in the former residence of Baron Van Westreenen Van Tiellandt (1783-1848), a great collector of manuscripts. In addition to Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, there is a collection of 350 manuscripts, including superb medieval works decorated with miniatures and illuminations. A recent section, devoted to the modern book, reveals all the secrets of graphic composition.
