The three-course menu (known as the market menu) changes regularly. A superb address very well known since 1991. It is one of The Hague's most valuable assets and has been able to renew its menu and décor over the years. Fouquet cooks in tune with the seasons and is a fan of slow food. A very popular address that we appreciate very much, especially if we are short of the local cuisine.

The atmosphere is relaxed and the service friendly, often fast and efficient. You can hear a lot of French being spoken here, as the French embassy is just a stone's throw away. The establishment is a sure bet in the city, with a pleasant, bright decor and large windows. If you're lucky, you might even bump into Anton Corbijn, the god of made-in-NL photography, who has a regular habit here.
GARUDA
Read moreGaroeda was one of the city's historic landmarks, opening its doors in 1949. Recently, it was taken over by the king of stoves, Ron Blauuw. He has transformed this slightly outdated classic into a warm, designer restaurant that's a must-see. Set over several floors, Garuda features a superb upstairs bar for lively evenings. But it's the bar within the bar that's the place to be. The menu is inventive and modern, while taking up the classics of this incredible cuisine. The cocktails are also excellent.

PASTANINI
Read morePastanini is a top quality caterer. Here, in the heart of The Hague, you can enjoy sandwiches, various pasta dishes and bread like you can find in Italy! Very good address for an espresso of course. A good place for pasta and pizzas, not to mention the children who have their own menu. A classic of the city where it is good to pass. Why not succumb to one of the desserts or a cheese platter. An address filled with various temptations. The service is also efficient.

The price-quality ratio is good, the wine list is varied and the staff does everything possible to ensure that customers have a pleasant evening. As the restaurant motto says, life is too short to drink bad wine! Here we like quality, in the plate and in the bottle. Several thematic menus are available. But it is also possible to have dinner à la carte. The ideal address for a beautiful evening that will ideally extend with a walk on the beach.
OOGST
Read moreA very good address in town, with top-class cuisine in a pleasant, classy setting. Note that the restaurant operates on a service system, with the first service between 6pm and 8pm. So it's not an address where you can linger for hours, but it's perfect for enjoying excellent cuisine before a concert or play. Recently awarded a BIB gourmand, a guarantee of quality. We particularly like the carefully prepared dishes and seasonal menus, always based on ultra-fresh produce.
PARAPLU – MUZIEKCAFE
Read moreAn address like we love them! A very lively restaurant, appreciated by a young and dynamic population. You may attend a concert, because this restaurant is a bit like the Conservatory's students' canteen. Charming and coffee. This address has been established since 1974 in a picturesque street in the centre of The Hague. It is a real institution of the city that started as a jazz café and has become a renowned brasserie where 80 people can take place. The menu always includes several dishes without meat and also fish.

ONI JAPANESE DINING
Read moreFor over 20 years now, this address has built a solid reputation, combining a sleek design setting with inspired dishes. The cuisine is Japanese, with an emphasis on fresh fish and other ingredients. Rosé and white wines go very well with the menu. The value for money is good, as is the interior, with its unique lighting forming a play of colors, and the podium. The setting lends itself more to a late-night party than a romantic dinner.
DES INDES

The metamorphosis has preserved the grandeur of yesteryear, while revitalizing it in a highly successful manner. The food is as good as the setting. For an exceptional meal. Don't miss the superb afternoon high tea. We come here as much for the enchanting, distinguished setting as for the meticulous menu. It's an old-fashioned classic that's sure to be a highlight of any visit to the city. A must-see!
TRIANA
Read moreThis address claims to be the only (real?) tapas bar in town. It's a great atmosphere, with music to match the cuisine, and very good food. We come here in a woodsy atmosphere, very gezellig as the Dutch like to say, and to enjoy small dishes, tapas, cold or without meat. The idea here is to make new acquaintances over a drink, and the music helps to soften the mood too. A great address for a lively evening with an international audience. A tried-and-tested classic among Haguenois!
LA LIGURIA
Read moreNear the Royal Palace, the city's most famous Italian. Not to be confused with a common pizzeria. It offers a fine cuisine and all flavours, based on quality products (carpaccio, fresh pasta, risotto...), in a relaxed setting. A popular address for Haguenois where it is advisable to book. Superb terrace in summer. For the record, this address is the result of a dream of young adults who came by scooter from Italy and is now held by the next generation. A beautiful place to visit.

For a quick lunch without spending too much while relaxing on the terrace. An address that will appeal to those on a tight budget as well as families, large or small. There's a wide choice of paninis at lunchtime and pizzas in the evening. Note the whole-wheat flour pizza, in line with current dietary concerns.
O SOLE MIO TRATTORIA PIZZERIA
Read morePleasant restaurant in Scheveningen serving excellent pizzas; according to some, the best in The Hague. The setting is simple and warm, and the service welcoming and patient. Be warned: this is more an address for going out with friends than for a romantic evening. The team prides itself on being truly Italian as a guarantee of quality, and they even add Naples. The pizzas are crisp and tasty, and the pasta dishes are not to be outdone.
