Museum that presents modern art in a different way by offering the public works of rock stars of contemporary art
Moco (modern contemporary) is a museum created by Lionel and Kim Logchies, which also has a branch in Barcelona. It's a museum for the general public, targeting young people and audiences who don't usually go to museums. The works are those of the rock stars of contemporary art. Among the artists frequently featured are Warhol, Banksy, Lichtenstein and Kusama. The museum is located on Museumplein, in the sublime Villa Alsberg, designed by Eduard Cuypers, nephew of Pierre Cuypers, architect of the Rijksmuseum. Petit musée très bien situé sur la place entre les 3 grands musées d'Amsterdam. Lors de ma visite, l'exposition était consacrée à Dali et Banksy. Un bon moment devant des oeuvres qu'on ne voit pas très souvent (notamment pour celles de Banksy).
