Spouse and I stayed here for few days the week of 2-19-24. Great front desk staff and were very accommodating. Didn’t try restaurant. Highly recommended and will stay again

Pros: very close to several public transportation stops, great market and food options down the street, walking distance to Heineken and several museums.

Very disappointing hotel. Noisy uncomfortable rooms. Checking in process was unwelcoming. WiFi is very poor. Will avoid in future.

Sir Albert Hotel in Amsterdam charmed me with its elegant blend of modern design and warm hospitality. My room was stylish and comfortable, with thoughtful amenities. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay, offering personalized recommendations. The location was perfect, nestled in a vibrant neighborhood with easy access to the city's sights. A delightful experience that made my visit extra special.

My husband and I stayed for a few nights recently. The hotel staff were very welcoming and even managed to give us an early check in as our flight got in at 8am. We were advised our room may be noisy as it was on the first floor, as the restaurant played music until 1am, however I didn’t find the noise much of a problem. We were also offered a room on a higher floor, but would have to wait until 3pm for normal check in time. We were given Baloons and chocolate in our room, as we had told the hotel we were there for our 10th anniversary which was a lovely touch.
The bed was very comfortable and water pressure in the shower was amazing for a hotel-probably the best I’ve stayed in. My only complaint would be the room was quite dusty and could have been cleaned a bit better (marks on the light switches, tables, glasses etc). But I went over these myself with a wipe.
The snacks also didn’t have a menu to explain how much they were. It was Overall a lovely hotel & welcoming friendly staff. Our bags were stored for our flight home, no problem. We didn’t add the option of breakfast as we felt it was quite expensive so I can’t comment on that. The market is a 5 minute walk away which is a must for a browse. We would return in a heartbeat if visiting Amsterdam again!

As a Titanium member who frequently stays at hotels for work, I recently had a disappointing experience at Sir Albert Hotel in Amsterdam. Despite the hotel's incredible location and my five-day stay, several aspects fell short of expectations:

1. Accommodation Preferences: Despite booking nearly a year in advance, my accommodation preferences weren't saved to my profile, making my stay less comfortable and convenient.

2. Cleanliness and Maintenance: The hotel's cleanliness and maintenance didn't meet expectations. Common areas seemed neglected, and my room wasn't as tidy as I'd hoped. Additionally, the air conditioning was excessively loud, necessitating its use as windows cannot be opened for fresh air.

3. Customer Service: I encountered some rudeness from the staff, which was disappointing. Unwelcoming staff, careless, and arrogant behavior detracted from the overall experience.

4. Housekeeping Issues: Housekeeping wasn't consistent. My room wasn't always cleaned properly, and amenities like towels, coffee, and water weren't reliably replenished.

5. Restaurant Policy: I found the policy prohibiting laptop use during breakfast inconvenient, especially for business travelers. I was asked to leave the table, although it was not communicated to me that I could not use my laptop.

6. Ineffective Guest Relations Management: Despite raising my concerns with the guest relations manager, Dan, my issues were not adequately addressed. Dan seemed indifferent and ignored my requests, leaving me feeling unheard and dissatisfied.

7. Gym Facilities: The gym, advertised as an amenity, turned out to be a disappointment. It's outsourced by a personal training studio, and hotel guests are treated as second-class citizens. I had to pay extra to access a proper gym because the provided facilities were often occupied by the studio's clients, leaving hotel guests with limited or no equipment to use. This lack of consideration for hotel guests is unacceptable and made me feel unwelcome.

Stay here frequently, and always good. Just dont stay in room 133 (during the weekends). The music from Izakaya is too bothersome for this room to be usable unless you're at the party downstairs yourself until the end.

Generally everything was fine but we felt it was expensive for the quality. The coffee and milk was not replenished, nor the water and there was no prices list for the other items in the room. However the beds were very comfy and the shower very good.

Great hotel. Love it. Always a sort of homecoming. Also, after 5 years, great to experience quality of service and food has remained really high level. Congrats to the teams.

The WORST Marriott experience!

I did not get a complimentary upgrade, 4 pm late check-out, or free breakfast as a Marriott Titanium member. That’s fine. I know this hotel’s connection with Marriott is just I can make a reservation through Marriott. The service and quality are far below Marriott's average standard, even below four points.

The most disturbing and UNSAFE part of my stay was that on Jan 25th, a man entered the room without announcing himself, and I was using the toilet, wearing nothing! He saw me wearing nothing!!! I reported the incident to the front desk and requested to change the room. Just change to another room rather than an upgrade. I got refused! The receptionist lied to me! She said the hotel was fully booked. However, looking through the Bonvoy app, several room types were still available that day! She gave me a 15% discount for this accident. I felt like it was like a joke. This was a super severe accident, and no one apologized or assisted me with that. 15% discount was nothing compared to my safety.

I didn’t feel safe staying there as a single traveler. As Ms. Lin mentioned, there was no way to lock the door inside the room, so that the same incident could have happened again. This independent hotel has enormous security problems. I didn’t know if the person who entered my room was a staff or another guest! I cannot imagine…

Also, the AC is very noisy, so I have to turn off the machine to get a sound sleep. But then it’s so cold when I get up. I can always hear other guests and housekeepers open and close the door with loud noises. Only refill tissue every day. Such an easy job for housekeeping ????

I would not recommend this hotel, and of course, I will never go back to this hotel. It's such an awful place!

While there is nothing wrong with the hotel itself, they refuse to give any benefits to Marriott elite members. They even claim not to be part of Marriott, so I booked my stay on the Marriott website and there was no information that the hotel is not part of Marriott. And at checkout time I was told that that I can't have a bill and I should download it from the Marriott website...

The hotel is really funky and modern and it has a superb hip and happening bar on the ground floor. Rooms are very cozy. Location of the hotel is very very convenient and 3 min walk to the tram line

Sir albert is a fantastic hotel, the staff are very accommodating and pleasant, rooms are modern and comfortable, the downstairs restaurant is very special great japanese food and drinks, I'd recommend booking however, the hotel is a 30 minute walk from Central Station so isn't the most central hotel but that's good as it's quiet and easy to get to by uber etc they also have guest bikes for use, we will be back

LOVED this hotel. From the minute the fabulous Nina checked us in, we felt like old friends. When I needed an adaptor so we could plug stuff in, it magically appeared. Every time I ran into her, she greeted me by name and seemed happy to see us. The other staff was equally friendly and gracious, Buren figured out that I liked a certain candy and gifted it to me. Diago graciously helped us print out boarding passes. Our room was lovely and quiet, the only issue we had was with the air conditioning - the room was hot so we had to keep the window open. I only have one very minor suggestion: Bring back paper room service menus and hotel info. It's a pain to use the QR code and stare at tiny type on my phone.

Thank you for a lovely stay. We have a new home in Holland!

I was allocated room no 16 ... on the ground floor and very close to reception and the restaurant.
When I arrived in my room at 1a.m. on Friday evening, the music from the restaurant was heard very loud in my room.
Throughout the night (when people passed by reception I suppose) there was plenty of noise in the hallway and consequently in my room.
I can't believe the hotel management even rents out this room!
It's hard to imagine that people ever had a good night in that room ...

Stayed at Sir Albert for a week. We did not get a complimentary upgrade as Marriott Bonvoy platinum elite members.

The gym is a personal training gym down the block that hotel guests can access. It is quite a small space so if there are meetings or sessions going on it is very awkward to work out there.

The most disturbing part for our stay is that we had the privacy sign up during the whole stay because we didn’t need housekeeping and we don’t like people going through our belongings. Not only did the hotel call to inquire why we had the privacy sign up, one morning, a hotel staff actually entered the room without announcing himself, and I was not properly dressed. I made sure the privacy sign was correctly placed (because the other side reads please service the room) and reported the incident to the front desk. The receptionist did not believe me and actually questioned if I had misplaced the privacy sign, and said that housekeeping always announce themselves before entering. Nothing further was done.

We actually considered switching hotels after that experience because we didn’t feel safe there. There was no way to lock the door from the inside of the room so the same incident could have happened again. We didn’t end up switching because we were leaving in 2 days. But for the remainder of the time we were constantly worried about people entering our room unauthorized.
