Poncebos, about 37 km south-east of Covadonga, is the starting point for many walks and hikes, revealing beautiful mountain landscapes. You can reach the village of Bulnes (1h30 walk in one direction), walk along the Cares Gorge to Caín (about 11 km one way), or continue north to the village of Arenas de Cabrales following the AS-264 for 6 km. It is possible to take a taxi from the Mirador de Cabrales in Poncebos. Less than 2 km from Poncebos, the village of Camarmeña, built on a mountainside, sumptuously overlooks the green valley. You will find there some hotels to accommodate you.
