At the point where the coastal road goes inland towards Sitia, Makrigialos and Alipsis is a thriving seaside resort. It is distinguished by its beautiful and long sandy beach. A small port and a town center offer the usual amenities: ATMs and post office. The beach of Analipsis is separated from the main road by a tight row of hotels, studios for rent, cafes and restaurants that directly overlook the beach. To visit in the area: a villa of the Minoan period, one of the Roman period and, in the surroundings, 9 km east towards Goudouras, the monastery Kapsa.
