Kalambaka is a town without any particular character but where you will find the majority of hotels around Trikalon street which separates the town hall square and Rigos Feraios square. It gathers bus stations, tourist office, stores... In 15 years, this city has seen its number of hotel beds explode. However, if you go off the beaten track to the paths that lead to Meteora, you will discover some nice corners. It is also home to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin, rebuilt in 1309 on the ruins of a5th century church. Getting there. Kalambaka is accessible by bus from Thessaloniki and Athens (ktel-trikala.gr) and by train (trainose.gr).
