This set of ruins, brought to light in 1912, constitutes an interesting destination for the amateurs of the Roman period. Located at 55 km in the southwest of Tunis, by the road of the bridge of Fahs. Thuburbo Majus owes its development, well before the Roman period, to its climate favorable to agriculture. But the city really took off only from 128 AD, when the Roman emperor Hadrian declared it a municipality. The golden age of Thuburbo Majus lasted two centuries, after which it was destroyed by the Vandals. Despite the passage of many peoples over the centuries, the ruins visible today are all of Roman origin.
