Opened in 1848, the imposing mines of Montevecchio ensured an important output of lead and zinc, with a peak of activity during the world wars. They closed in 1991, sending part of the population to other regions. Only 300 inhabitants still live on the old site, which once had 3,000! The church, the offices of the Inqurtosu mine management and the impressive site of Sant'Antonio give a good idea of what life was like for a miner. The Montevecchio site is huge and it is impossible to visit all its corners in one day
