Located at 915 m above sea level, it is the coldest city in Queensland. In July, the Brass Monkey Festival celebrates cool temperatures. This small regional center is called the Queensland Orchard and Vine Country. More than twenty vineyards are cultivated in the surrounding area. In summer, farms are looking for additional workers to harvest fruit. Backpackers will find work in the harvest of spinal fruit (from September to November), tomatoes and vegetables (from January to May) and apples and pears (from February to May).
