Girraween is famous for its huge, precariously balanced granite "logs," translucent streams that flow over granite beds, and the carpet of wildflowers that cover the park in the spring. The golden wattle lights up the valley and the pea-flowers splash through the brush. There are many trails in the park, ranging from a half-hour stroll to a six-hour hike to visit sites like Balancing Rock, the Pyramids, Granite Arch, Sphinx and Needle's Eye. Beware, the Big Rock hike is dizzying! However, the panoramic view is worth the detour.
