Founded by the Celts in the 4th century B.C., colonized by the ancient Romans, who made it the metropolis of the province of Upper Pannonia (2nd century), Sisak is known for its ancient baths and its basilica from the early Middle Ages. In 1593, the surrender of the Turkish army sealed the end of the Ottoman invasions in Croatia. At the confluence of the rivers Kupa and Sare, the town developed in the modern period thanks to the river trade. To see in the historical center, the municipal museum, the baroque church Holy Cross, the old bridge; to make, at the exit of the city, a stroll on the banks until the fortress with the triangular plan.
