One of the country's most prestigious festivals, it's thinking big to celebrate its seventieth anniversary in 2019, with over 2,000 guest artists from Europe and the USA, free and ticketed performances in twenty historic venues, both inside and outside the walls. Every year, there are theatrical and musical performances, classical dance and ballet, folklore, cinema and exhibitions. The opening night is particularly eagerly awaited.
