An interesting wine cellar accompanies a well-made cuisine which smells good French soil: frogs' legs terrine with gratin, pork loin with chanterelles, pig's trotters with red beans, rabbit with cider and bacon, game (teal, wild boar stew, quails...). It is better to reserve the evening.

Mariette Andrianjaka is an institution in Madagascar. Commander of the Blue Cords of France in 1985, she is under distinctions: the walls of his house are covered with various titles or diplomas. A table very appreciated by the residents in particular. Pleasant decoration with its fireplace in winter and its garden for the beautiful days. One comes especially for the cheese specialties (real raclette with half a wheel of Antsirabe!), but also for its well-prepared dishes: beef bourguignon, Alsatian flammekueche, veal blanquette, duck leg confit, zebu filet with flamed shallots. To share: chop on the bone 1,5 kg, ribs 1 kg... The menu changes according to the season and the market. A real bonus: the wines of the Auzias estate on the menu.

In the heart of Ivandry, this fishmonger's renowned for its quality supply of fish and seafood, which is unique in Tana, now has on its floor a sushi bar and a restaurant of great quality. In a very successful design environment, François the chef and his team do a remarkable job of preparing the fish. It is very finely cut and the plates are very beautiful. The more classic dishes are also revisited and the wine list is well stocked. It is the chic and nice place for fish in Tana.

This establishment is located in the same building as the former Lapasoa Residence (now Akiba Lodge). The well-decorated address is attracting a new clientele. Chef Gilbert Kakule, who prepares the menus for the group's structures, advocates short circuits, and the menu evolves according to the inspiration of the moment, the seasons and the local produce available. In a décor reminiscent of Brittany (photos of… Breton lighthouses of course), delicious salées salty cakes are tasted (prepared in front of you), sweet pancakes, rustic ones, gourmets, fresh salads, ice cuts and a delicious Sunday with caramel. The restaurant L'Orion offers a menu with multiple "Sino-Malagasy-Vietnamese" inspirations: zebu slices, chicken with coconut, shrimp curry, seafood gratin, duck breast with prunes. The strong point is also the superb fish, freshly arrived from Sainte-Marie. Depending on the arrival: red snapper, swordfish, parrotfish, red tuna, lobster... The whole is delightful, but ask for the price of the fish beforehand (they are not on the menu), because the bill can be high!

From the terrace of the restaurant of the Palissandre hotel & spa, we overlook the city: a superb setting, both by day and by night. Very good cuisine proposed by a passionate and creative Malagasy chef, both for local and French specialties, the dishes are original and well presented: skate wing, octopus and mung peas, gourmet duo of goose, roasted piglet press, roasted duckling fillet with shellfish butter. For dessert, Manjary chocolate cube with pok-pok heart, citrus-ginger feuillantine... A good address.

The Tsiky restaurant is a small address with a peaceful and reassuring atmosphere. You will settle down in a luminous room, which offers a striking view on the hill of Faravohitra. The service is pleasant here, and on the plate, the dishes are rather copious. Tsiky's cuisine is rather Malagasy inspired with a touch of European influence. The prices are far from being excessive and the quality is there. Dany knows how to maintain the level of his restaurant. We recommend this nice little restaurant!

The Savanna Café is a popular hotel-restaurant, located not far from the Antananarivo airport, with a New York brasserie atmosphere and a terrace at the back. The hotel has a nice view from the rooms. Many residents meet at the Savanna for aperitifs. You can eat hearty sandwiches and hamburgers, including the Extra Big Burger at the top price, European specialties and a good zebu chop with gratin dauphinois. Note that the restaurant sometimes closes earlier than the advertised hours when it is quiet.

An innovative concept: you are being offered to prepare your traditional Malagasy Meal! The wood fire in a typical pot (vilany), and the dishes will be served in the typical dishes also (tsatokaty). Close to the Queen's palace, this bucolic restaurant offers a superb panorama on the whole capital and the plain of Tana. The particularity of this establishment is to have several spaces: under the parasols you can sip a cocktail on the terrace while ordering a hamburger, a salad or a daily menu based on seasonal products. The gastronomes will give themselves rdv'au Paris Lounge, an air-conditioned restaurant proposing a menu of dishes based on local products. At the Terrace of Nosy Be, open to the garden, it will be tapas or pinchos. The heart of the place: the bar with its wide range of rum-based cocktails!
