When to go à ISTANBUL ?

Istanbul has many faces and its atmosphere changes with each season. Autumn and spring are the best times to come to Istanbul because the climate is pleasant, there are fewer tourists than in summer, and a large number of events take place. During Ramadan, the city is quieter during the day but very lively at night. On public holidays and religious celebrations, some establishments are closed.

The weather in Istanbul is temperate with a continental tendency: summers are very hot, winters cold and wet. It is not uncommon to see snow falling in large flakes between December and February in a suddenly icy atmosphere. You will have to stick to the historical center, but the vision of Istanbul covered with a white coat will give you an unforgettable memory.

The best time to go to Istanbul is in April/May/June or September/October, when there are fewer tourists and the temperatures are mild. Beware, it is very common to see snow falling on the city from the beginning of December until the end of February, sometimes even in early March. If it persists, Istanbul can be completely blocked and traffic becomes impossible. The busiest months are July, August, May and September, followed closely by October. Christmas and New Year's Eve are also very popular.

Discover ISTANBUL

Calm and dynamic, modern and ancient, religious and secular, Istanbul has an incomparable and multifaceted character that is the envy of many other cities. This megalopolis of over 16 million inhabitants is the only one in the world to be crossed by an arm of the sea, the Bosphorus. To visit Istanbul is also to travel back in time, and, thanks to the many remains, to stroll through Constantinople or Byzantium. The richness of its history and the influence of many cultures make it an exceptional place where priceless treasures abound. Apprehending this fascinating city means experiencing a new culture and seeing the world in a different way. This includes culinary, artistic and architectural discoveries, not to mention the art of keyif (idleness) in the hammams. Surprising and generous, conservative and avant-garde, neither European nor Asian, it is quite simply unique.
