Kyustendil is a small and peaceful town that can be an interesting stopover. Famous for its thermal baths, which already attracted Thracians and Romans at the time when it was called Pautalia, it counts more than forty hot springs. Its small center is charming, combining Roman and Byzantine heritage. The Ottomans built several hammams and mosques, most of which are still visible. The name of Kyustendil comes from the Ottoman period. Kostandinili means land of Constantine. Crossed by the river Bansko, the city is located at about twenty kilometers of Serbia as of North Macedonia, stage on the road Sofia-Skopje.
