On the road to Koprivchtitsa-Pazardjik, the town of Panagyurishte, in the middle of Sredna Gora, is a rather interesting detour, although it is not full of special attractions. The town is mostly known for being one of the major places of the April 1876 uprising for Bulgarian independence, and for the discovery of the famous Panagyurishte gold treasure dating from the Thracian period and discovered in 1949 - a replica of which can be found in the history museum. Here is a stop in the middle of nature which will plunge you into a very important past for the Bulgarian soul with the memorial of the Revolt and the houses of some revolutionaries.
