Travel Guide Glozhene (Гложене)

This small town at the foot of Mount Lissets was founded by a prince from Kiev, Gheorghi Gloj, whose name it bears, in the 13th century. The surroundings of the city are picturesque, but the monastery Sveti Georgi Pobedonosets which is located above the city is the main asset. It is the best place to stay. All buses on the Sofia-Teteven line stop at Glozhene. The surroundings are also suitable for hiking and nature watching. 12 km away is Teteven, a small village built by the river and on the slopes of the mountain. For accommodation, the Olymp Hotel, next to the open air stadium, is a good option.
