Chumphon is also the most direct access point to Koh Tao by sea. Chumphon is well worth a visit. It boasts beautiful beaches just a few kilometers away, as well as opportunities for excursions inland. The area is superb and is undergoing rapid development, and the Thai authorities have decided to promote it and make it a tourist mecca in the next few years.
