The island, also known as Ko Samed, is part of the Laem Ya-Mu Koh Samet National Marine Park. The entrance fee is B200 for adults and B100 for children. The toll booth is located on the asphalt road between the landing stage and Sai Khao beach (White Sands). In truth, the light-sand beaches are really beautiful, and it's a pity that the above-mentioned tax is not used for more effective cleaning of the surroundings or systematic wastewater treatment. Nightlife is concentrated on White Sands beach, where most of the restaurants are located. Koh Samet is above all a family destination.
