Belém is still a hundred kilometres from the Atlantic. To reach the first waves, you have to take the bus (or a private vehicle) that crosses some lost villages in the north of Brazil (3 to 4 hours of travel). Even further away is the island of Algodoal, a true sandy paradise, far from everything, contrasting with the tropical environment of Belém and the Amazon, which finally finds its border here, at the junction of the Atlantic and the waters of the Amazon.Here, the traveler moves on foot or by cart, motor vehicles are absent from the panorama.
