Nicknamed the island of Love, the island of Mosqueiro offers both the framework of quiet retreats and the more lively one of hectic weekends. The island is one of the favourite escapades of its inhabitants.It is surrounded by 18   beaches of white sand, exuberant vegetation and rivers. The nicest are Praia do Farol and Baia do Sol. High waves are crumbling  : it's fresh water… The name comes from the Indian moqueio, which is a means of fish conservation. Discovered in the th century, the island was a tourist resort for foreign tourists since the beginning of the th century.
