The service is provided by the granddaughter of Mr. Charles, the founder of the chip shop... which is still called friture according to an old belgicism. The family business has existed since 1956 and is still successful after more than sixty years of existence: you have to be patient to be served at peak times! Here you can enjoy Belgian bintje cooked in the traditional way in beef fat. At lunchtime only, the good old paper cone invites you in for some nostalgia. Eaten with your fingers, it's even better!

For more than three decades, the chip shop has been a must in the area and we don't see what could change that! Because here, the owner was elected Knight of the National Order of the Golden Cornet (a title that has never been awarded since) and remains attentive to the quality of the oil and the potato. This catering shop is the brainchild of Julien Devlamincq, a former chef, and Michel Hubert, a former cheese maker. Everything is homemade: sandwiches, of course, but also dishes, pizzas... to take home or to have a picnic, why not in the Parc Baudouin which is not so far away. You can feel the affinity with cheese, considering the nice selection you can find there and moreover, if you feel like it, you can rent a raclette machine!

Georges Badghi Sar, who arrived in Belgium from Syria at the age of 11, is at the helm of this gourmet streetfood establishment near Flagey. The star of the show is the homemade Syrian flatbread baked in the oven (tannour), followed by a choice of meat (slow-cooked) or a veggie option. Everything is accompanied by fresh vegetables and served either as a dish or rolled up like a shawarma. What makes the difference are the quality ingredients and the care taken in preparation. A real treat, as is the low price. The line-up in front of the restaurant bears witness to this.

Just a stone's throw from the charming Romanesque church of Saint-Denis, the Frite of the same name seems to be a favorite with lunchtime and evening customers. We can vouch for it! The address is more than recommendable. The beef fat fries are crisp and tasty. The meat for the burgers, kebabs and pittas is homemade, as is the American food, which is prepared fresh. The owner and his wife are as rigorous about product preparation as they are about hygiene. Copious portions can be taken away or eaten on the spot.

Located right in the heart of the new Parc Tout & Taxis, Parckfarm is first and foremost a major social project that aims to create "an edible park with a social and ecological purpose, and a reappropriation of public green space by local residents". During the summer months, on Wednesdays and weekends, their greenhouse opens to offer vegetarian snacks and drinks: the ideal, and original, place for a snack or refreshment. The Farmhouse also has a reading corner and board games available free of charge.

You know the smash burger, that burger that is smashed to extract the maximum of taste and that is crispy on the edges? Smash offers you these burgers, but not too junk food! The buns are made with spelt flour, the meat is Belgian and of rustic breed. Plus, it's organic. As for the toppings, a smash burger is simple: cheese, a little pickle or red onion, a leaf of lettuce, sauce and no more! Originality: they also offer a smash lobster. Vegan version with avocado too.
