In the north of Fasoula, Apsiou was founded by Greek sailors from Naxos and was originally originally the name of Naxou. It is a peaceful village surrounded by vineyards and orchards, where you can see the monastery Ayiou Amirou (th century), in the middle of orange trees and olive trees. The monastery was built following a miracle of the Virgin, which gave the sight of the blind girl of a Turkish merchant sailing off Limassol. The girl was drawn for the first time in her life by a light she distinguished in the mountain. The accosted merchant in Limassol and they both took the path of light to reach Apsiou. The Virgin once again appeared to the young girl by giving her full sight. In thanks, the merchant founded this monastery, which bears its name (Amirou). Place of pilgrimage for a long time, it is also today the point of gathering a large village feast at Easter.
