Emblematic building of the cultural and political life of the city, famous for its mythical newspaper and its famous soap opera
Emblematic of the city's cultural and political life, the San Francisco Chronicle was founded in 1865 and moved into this building in 1924. San Francisco's most influential newspaper has seen its reputation grow within these walls. In 1975, Armistead Maupin began to publish his famous serial The San Francisco Chronicles. However, since 2008 and the beginning of the economic crisis, then the explosion of the Internet which diverts readers from the printed press, the aura of this mythical newspaper is not what it used to be.
