Pachino is a town of vineyards and wine. It is surrounded by a countryside that is enveloped in a beautiful light in the evening. It also has a certain conviviality (the wine helps). The production of tomatoes is also an important activity of the city. Not far away, stop at the site of the Roman villa of Tellaro (4th century B.C.), where precious mosaics were found in 1961, reminiscent of those in Villa Casale near Piazza Armerina, but less impressive. Here you can enjoy the beautiful beach Isola dei due Correnti, where the Ionian and Mediterranean seas meet. You can reach Pachino by bus with AST, from Ragusa (2h) or from Syracuse (2h20).
