10 km from Kuala Terengganu, Marang is a pleasant fishing port. It has a special atmosphere when, at low tide, the small boats seem to be stranded. It's a pleasant place to spend the end of the day and the night before setting sail for Pulau Kapas, especially on Sunday evenings when the colorful market comes alive. Not to be confused with Merang, 60 km away.
