The island of Pangkor is 12 km long and is home to a population of mainly Malay fishermen. However, it is also home to Chinese and Indian communities, reflected in the presence of Buddhist and Hindu temples. Its hills are covered by dense jungle, dotted with numerous rivers. Despite its small size, the island is home to three forest reserves between Pangkor and Tortoise Hill. Hiking enthusiasts can observe a variety of animals such as monkeys, deer and birds. But the main activity remains the beach and swimming, even if the island is not renowned for its seabed.
