Due to its location as a traffic junction, Bignona is not very exciting. But when passing through the town, one can make a stop, spend the night there, stroll; go and see the beautiful colours of the African market which opens in the morning and lasts until the evening. You can learn a lot about the legends and stories of the region. You will find some decent accommodation, including a very pleasant hunting camp about 12 kilometres away and a bank with an ATM near the market. From Ziguinchor or Diouloulou, it is easy to reach Bignona by taking a bush taxi from one of the bus stations.
