The village of Abéné itself is charming, authentic, and the population a mixture of Diolas and Mandingues. It can be reached by car, on foot, by bike or by pirogue from Kafountine. The contacts that you will have here with the inhabitants will certainly be privileged, but you will also have quickly made the tour of the small village. Not to be missed: the enormous sacred cheese maker on the village square. You can't miss it: the old people talk about it underneath, next to the small village market. The main course, the beach, is 1.5 km away, by a sandy track that is not suitable for bicycles. Turn left when you are in front of the cheese maker. Then the track splits. Straight ahead, the main beach which reveals beautiful landscapes. A walk is also possible from Abéné to Kafountine. It's a little more than ten kilometres of pure pleasure that even those who are in favour of the least effort can reasonably undertake on foot or by bike, at low tide when the wet sand is as hard as a road. A few bushes, the eternal filaos that brave the wind and the tides, no one in front, no one behind, just sand, water and peace. The weather is always good, with offshore winds that cool down a bit at night. The advantage is that the temperature is hardly ever too high and the sea keeps the water as warm as you want it to be. Abéné, a little Eden? Yes, without any hesitation!
