Nogales was born in 1880, thanks to the Ferrocarril de Sonora company. In this rather ugly border town, crossing customs is quick. Because of its location, the town is the main gateway for North American tourists from Arizona. Some even cross the border on foot. The hotels, very close to the border crossing, are concentrated in Calle Obregón, as are the banks and pharmacies. To get to the bus station, take the bus at the corner of Juárez street. There is not much reason to linger in Nogales, which is primarily a city of transit for tourists.
