In 1976, Edouard des Grottes, a banana grower, wishing to promote the wealth of his island, planted all sorts of varieties at the foot of Mount Pelee: anthuriums, heliconias, alpinias, ginger flowers… From the cutting to the reception of the flowers in mainland France, in less than 24 hours!
