Equipped with two multi-purpose halls and numerous dedicated spaces, it was born from the merging of the CMAC and the Atrium and benefits from the Scène nationale label of the Ministry of Culture. Inaugurated on September 21, 1901, after 15 years of work, the building was renamed Aimé Césaire, following the death of the great writer in 2008, who had long been based within its walls. Its neoclassical style and its facade stamped with the city's coat of arms (laurel, crown, axe, and lictors' bundle) are the pride of the Martinique people.
