The best restaurants Cayenne

Don't let its name fool you, Beirut's Karbet is in fact a restaurant... And a very good one at that! The only Lebanese restaurant in Cayenne, this establishment was created in 2022 by two brothers who had worked for several years in some very good Lebanese restaurants. Building on its success, it has already expanded for 2024 and now occupies a well-decorated room in a nice corner of Cayenne. You'll love discovering the refined flavors, accompanied by a range of mezzes: tabbouleh, cream of eggplant or hummus... The welcome is friendly and pleasant, and well worth discovering!

Here's a very good Asian speciality restaurant, well known to the locals, that's sure to please! Settle down on the small terrace or in the simply decorated, modern dining room, and start enjoying the excellent starters: classic samoussas or egg rolls, or the more daring boneless chicken feet! We particularly recommend the rice crepes, which are well worth the detour. For main courses, you can opt for our excellent soups, grilled meats or timeless Asian dishes (pork in caramel sauce, shrimps in sweet and sour sauce...).

Pizzas are all the rage in Cayenne, but not all of them are as generous and high quality as here! Wood'Pizz is part of the Wood restaurant, which has expanded right next door to the existing one, to enable Guyanese to enjoy good pizzas while keeping the same principle: healthy, quality products for, as they say, "quality pizzas with wonderful people"! Quality comes at a price, and the pizzas are a few euros more expensive than elsewhere, but the service is fast and always very pleasant. Definitely worth a try!

This Peruvian food truck is well known to local young metropolitans who want to eat well and cheaply, while enjoying caipirinhas! The concept: a team in the truck's kitchen is busy preparing your dish, and will call you on the microphone when it's ready. Set up on the seafront terrace, the place is very simple: plastic table and chairs, a loudspeaker in one corner blaring Latina music, but the good atmosphere is always there!

Le Céjo is a wonderful new addition to Montabo! Since January 2024, this establishment has been set up facing the sea. A terrace lets you enjoy the view, but the large dining room is not to be outdone, with its huge bay window and exposed beams. On the plate, it's a similar story: the choice is limited, but the dishes are very well prepared, with generally 2 meat and 2 fish options. Chef Pardonipade Johan is also a member of the Toques Guyanaises, a label that promotes local gastronomy, and he does it wonderfully.

The only Italian restaurant in Cayenne that doesn't serve pizza is this one! Instead, since 1995, A l'Ithalia has concentrated on fresh pasta and 100% homemade ravioli. The result is simply delicious! All the classic pasta dishes are on offer, and for the ravioli, choose the filling you like and the sauce you fancy. We loved the giraumon and peanut ravioli with curry sauce. As if to finish on a high note, the desserts are also "homemade", and the tiramisu is a real success!

Food truck feverhas not escaped Guyana! At nightfall, numerous trucks line up along the Place des Palmistes offering all kinds of takeaways: bamis, nassis, brochettes à la sauce saté, sandwiches, hamburgers, madras... all for a modest price! The idea is to enjoy all this on the spot, or on the Place des Amandiers among the boules players, unless you opt for a spot facing the sea on the Vieux Port.
