BOCCA DI ROSA
Read moreFranco Provvedi is not here to act. Although he is a talented actor with Italian accents, he opened Bocca di Rosa (title of a song: " La chiamavano bocca di rosa, Metteva l'amore, metteva l'amore"…) to make you discover Croix-Rousse inhabitants (and Lyonnais who wish to go up there) the pizzas alla romana. A dough mind worked mainly made with Italian flour and with a good leaven that takes all its time to rise the dough, topped with products directly from Italy (from the Marche region to be precise) and local vegetables. Enjoy a moment of gourmandise and good humour in a restaurant inviting you to stay on the spot to feel like in Italy than to take home pizza (al taglio, very fashionable at the moment). Romarino, Cippola, Margherita, Parmiggiana, Bufalina… Everyone finds their happiness accompanied by a glass of wine, of course Italian. There's a small delicatessen putting on sale the Marche products to bring home the best of Italy. A mouth and a new address to hug tight.
CASSEROLES ET VIEILLES GAMELLES
Read moreNostalgia has beautiful days ahead of it, especially in good cuisine. In the passage of the Grande Street, the pots are already out and inside, in a first room, you are immersed in the atmosphere of a grocery store of the 50 s. Balance on the counter, advertising plates, various objects, our parents are found there and we discover the suggestions of the day in the black table. It is well seen and well prepared, carried out on the spot with fresh products and one will pass through the kitchens to persuade them! The map changes often, but in memory of this spring, a melon Delicious and its éclats of crispy ham ham, a Verrine de caviar d'aubergines and its mozzarella emulsion are cited in memory of this spring; A Veau of calf, Magret of canard duck or Pan of almond, coriander and anise gambas. Interesting selection of wines, but also of an old age aperitif with Le and Picon beer. A second room opens to us, but it's the walled garden of the wall at the back of the shop that craquer us. There, far from the city and in another era, we drill sail.
