The Château de Chénas was built in 1821. In 1934, the winery was producing 44 hectares for 44 winegrowers. Today, it has 220 hectares with 148 farms and 110 members. The main vintages of the château are from these two AOCs. The Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages appellations produce reds and rosés to be drunk young. The château also produces some excellent vintages of fleurie, juliénas, saint-amour, brouilly and morgon.
