The first fruit to be awarded an AOC (protected designation of origin) in 1938, the Grenoble walnut is the product of the alliance of a territory and passionate men. At the Grand Séchoir, through a playful museography, discover how they evolved together towards excellence. In a renovated former walnut dryer, a contemporary setting and a tour suitable for the whole family. Objects, photos, interactive games, story hut, landscaped park... All the senses are awakened. Opening time and information on THE BIG DRYER
Open from 1 April to 31 October, every day except on Monday from 10h to 18h. From 1 November to 31 March, daily except on Monday from 14h to 17h30. Closed in January. Open year-round for groups upon reservation. Free up to 10 years old. Adult: 4.50€. Reduced: 3.50 € (10-18 years old, student, high school student, RSA, job-seekers, large families & disability).

The Grenoble walnut has a history, a beautiful history, and has even given rise to a veritable "walnut civilization", which is presented and staged at the Grand Séchoir, the Maison du Pays de la noix.
In the museum store, discover walnut delicacies made by local producers: oils, wines, jams, cakes and crunchies to enjoy on site or in the museum grounds, where you can stroll in the shade of walnut trees!
At any time of day, to complement your visit to the museum or simply for a sweet treat, the Grand Séchoir offers a range of iced verrines and mignardises based around walnuts - tarts, meringues, walnut tuiles, gâteau dauphinois... to complement a variety of teas and coffees.
