A museum where you can discover the mystery and history of the Carthusian order, as well as the daily lives of the fathers and brothers.

For the Carthusian monks, the Grande Chartreuse monastery is a place of meditation and prayer. The Musée de la Grande Chartreuse, below the monastery at La Correrie, removes some of the mystery from this spiritual landmark. In a quiet setting, visitors discover the history of the Order and the daily life of the monks, listening attentively to the testimonies of the fathers and brothers. Luogo visto il 4 settembre 2024 Certosa (non visitabile) da vedere anche esternamente immersa nel verde ed in piena natura -vale la salita di circa 20 minuti leggermente ripida. La cosa straordinaria è stata la visita del museo (10 euro) della vita monastica dei cistercensi -con audioguida- comprendente ampie e dettagliate descrizioni. Un momento di grande religiosità ed immersivo

BEWARE! The parking lot at the museum is unsafe and has a known issue with car break-ins. We arrived for a short visit on the afternoon of 7 Sept and left an hour and a half later with a broken window and some stolen items. The parking lot was busy so didn’t even imagine the potential for such an issue. There are security cameras in the lot that are all BROKEN! Shame on the museum! They know this is a problem and do nothing about it! Now getting to spend a few fun hours with the gendarmerie (they are very helpful and nice though- 5 star experience!)

Mystisches Erlebnis in den Bergen... Wir sind hochgewandert und haben das Kloster umrundet. Auch toll mit Hund. Empfehlung Museumsladen besuchten, für gibt den leckeren Likör zu erwerben.
