Particularly picturesque thanks to its picture-postcard setting at the foot of the castle, the Aubenas market is frequently cited as one of the most beautiful in France. Every Saturday morning, stalls fill the streets of the old town. The scent of Provence and the Cévennes, with local produce all lined up. In summer, there's a night market every Wednesday from 6 p.m. in the historic center. In addition, numerous fairs punctuate the year, often with medieval origins: Foire aux colains, Foire de la Saint-Antoine, Foire aux chevaux...

A vacation without a little ice cream just isn't a vacation! And with a setting like the old town of Aubenas and its castle in the background, a stroll through the narrow streets is the perfect complement to an ice-cream treat. Martin and his band of ice-cream artists juggle with local produce. The milk comes from cows grazing in the Monts d'Ardèche, the chestnuts from Imbert, the raspberries from Ardèche and the apricots from the Drôme, the chocolate from Valrhona and the vanilla... from Tahiti. The menu also includes smoothies, milkshakes and cocktails.

A confectioner since 1907, Sabaton produces its inimitable marrons glacés according to the original recipe, its chestnut creams and purées, jams and other confectionery from the Ardèche and elsewhere - for candied citrus peel. We also add local fruits in syrup: bilberries, blackcurrants or blueberries. A video shows you the different stages of production, from harvesting to packaging. In chestnut country, Marrons Imbert are king! Everyone here knows them, and everyone loves them. The adventure began in the 1920s with Gustave Imbert. Manufacturing processes have been modernized, but the method remains traditional. The company's main distinctive feature is the systematic peeling and sorting of chestnuts before cooking, to remove skins, tannins and damaged fruit for a quality product. Imbert also uses chestnuts to make purees and creams: 800 tonnes of chestnuts a year are kneaded in the Aubenas factory.

The house has existed since 1901. An address for hedonists. On the shelves, chestnut liqueurs, brandies, local wines, terrines, chestnut cream, honeys, olive oils, marrons glacés from the Imbert house, candies, syrups, cookies... In the heart of Aubenas, the Auzas house invites you to the heart of cheese: more than a hundred to choose from! You will be impressed by the beautiful variety of Ardèche cheeses, including some rarities such as the Etoile des Neiges made in Coucouron. You will discover with the same interest a tomme du Cantal, an aligot or truffade. All of which are matured to perfection, as it should be in a good cheese dairy. Other treasures of the Ardèche region await you: organic jams, Bourganel beers, local wines and a plethora of delicious sausages and pâtés.

An essential gourmet break in Aubenas, Pierre Chauvet's store delights Albenassiens and visitors alike. Recognized in 2015 as one of France's top 100 pastry chocolatiers, he embellishes his creations with products from the Ardèche region, favoring fresh ingredients. His Carrés feuilletés, his Coeur de nougat and his delicious Folies de l'Ardèche are a big hit... Homemade ice creams made with fresh Ardèche milk are a delight.

This store, which offers top-quality products, all organically grown or from sustainable agriculture, is a member of the "Terre d'envie" network, a label that guarantees respect for nature and animals throughout the production chain, as well as total transparency on product provenance. La musette brings together some fifteen farms in the region and offers poultry, lamb, kid, ham, pâtés, caillettes, sausages, fresh eggs, cheese, vegetables, fruit juices, jams, honey, chestnut cream, gingerbread, bread and wine...

On the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, here is a boutique not exactly like the others, since it presents products exclusively from organic farming. If some come from Ardèche where you can practice this type of culture, you can fill out its fruit and vegetable basket, dairy and meat, fresh bread… and food supplements. In this natural market there are also many products for our well-being - cosmetics, elixirs, clays…

In 2007, the producers of the Bas-Vivarais fruit cooperative set up the first producers' village store in the commune of Saint-Sernin. In 2011, they opened a second outlet in Aubenas, and in 2017 another in Ruoms. Self-service or by the slice: Ardèche charcuterie and cheeses, farmhouse meats, poultry, seasonal fruit and vegetables, jams, soups, 5 or 10 kilo flours, pâté, beer, wine, as well as a frozen food section.

The talented Guillaume Cerdini has made a name for himself in chocolate. This is his second boutique - the first is in Vals-les-Bains - run by his wife Élodie. The selection of chocolates is just as comprehensive as in Vals, and you'll find all the products that come out of the spa town's workshop. Chocolates, macaroons, vacherins, as well as seasonal specialties for the festive season. In summer, tables are placed outside to enjoy the delicious ice creams.

La Fabrique Givrée is an ice cream shop located in Aubenas, at 3 Place de l'Hôtel de ville. Opened in 2012, this store is La Fabrique Givrée's first ice cream shop. Customers can enjoy their ice cream on the huge terrace in front of the store. The store also offers chocolates. Free parking and bus stops are available close to the store.
