The only road that takes you from one side of the Luberon to the other, from Apt or Bonnieux on the north side to Loumarin

This is the only road that takes you from one side of the Luberon to the other. It runs from Apt or Bonnieux on the north side to Lourmarin on the south side. This combe, carved out of the limestone massif by the Aigue brun stream, is so impressive that the cliffs overlooking the road are vertiginous. Occasionally, you'll be able to catch a glimpse of the athletes climbing them - it's quite impressive. Be careful, though, as the road is very busy and winding, and you can't stop just anywhere to take photos! A lovely drive!

Opening time and information on THE LOURMARIN COOMB

The D943 between Lourmarin and Apt runs through the Combe de Lourmarin. You can park in an old quarry at the entrance to the Combe. Few stops thereafter. Dangerous road on foot.
