The Hôtel-Dieu de Carpentras was one of the hospitals in the capital of the Comtat Venaissin.
The Carpentras Hôtel-Dieu, built in the mid-18ᵉ century, was one of the hospitals in the capital of the Comtat Venaissin, and with its 10,000m2 of floor space, it was the most imposing. It was commissioned by Joseph-Dominique d'Inguimbert, known as Dom Malachie, bishop of Carpentras. Construction began in 1750, and from 1764, in accordance with the bishop's wishes, it was served by hospitable nuns. Magnificently renovated, the building has been home to the Bibliothèque-Musée L'Inguimbertine since 2017. Numerous cultural events throughout the year.
