A remarkable Unesco World Heritage bridge, with four arches and a magnificent Romanesque chapel in Avignon.
We dance, we dance... The famous bridge, sung in every language, dates back to the 12th century! Today, only 4 of the 22 arches linking the two banks remain. Destroyed and rebuilt many times, ravaged by the destructive fury of the soudards and the wrath of the river, and finally abandoned in the 17th century, it is now a Unesco World Heritage site. The Saint-Bénézet chapel stands on one of the pillars, surmounted by the Saint-Nicolas chapel.

L'entrée du pont est payante . Il est drôle de pouvoir fouler le sol de ce pont si célèbre et d'y faire une petite danse.
La Chapelle est très jolie.
La visite est rapide étant donné que le pont n'est pas complet!

C'est un lieu incontournable d'Avignon. Il faut s'y rendre et fredonner ce tendre refrain "sur le pont d'Avignon" qui a bercé notre enfance. Enfin une image sur cette chansonnette !

Lieux de ballade sympathique et historique, il est possible de monter sur le pont et de visionner une vidéo en 3D de reconstitution du pont. A faire sir vous êtes de passafe dans la région.
