Bellissimo e maestoso palazzo da ammirare prevalentemente all'esterno, internamente quasi vuoto ed allestito con discrete opere di un artista francese. La visita interna non mi sento di consigliarla, parco/giardinio interno minuscolo, organizzazione della visita da migliorare e percorsi poco chiari. Danno in dotazione dei tablet durante la visita, ma specialmente i ragazzi sono più intenti ad usarlo e smanettare che osservare ciò che li circonda

This is one of those places that is magnificent and full of history but that sadly looks much better from the outside than inside. Also some of the modern added decor features like shown in the second pictures make the place look worse by adding tacky aesthetic. The histopads are awful and heavy. An old fashioned printed map would be much better. Also inside the castle there is no proper signs on which way to follow the tour and things can get confusing really quickly. Also some information is in English but many descriptions concerning the history are still only in French and the Histopads don’t provide other translated information either. In a nutshell much can be improved about this experience.

Enorme, sconcertante, massiccio...oggi abbiamo grattacieli e voliamo nel cielo immenso, ma pensare sia stato costruito nel 1300 dando fondo a quasi tutto il patrimonio papale, contasse 13 torri e si sia mantenuto praticamente intatto é BOMBA

La grandeur du palais s'admire très bien de l'extérieur. L'intérieur est sobre (sinistre ?) et prête plus à la contemplation qu'à l'émerveillement. Toutes les pièces se ressemblent et les vitrines d'exposition sont sans intérêt. La visite en réalité augmentée sauve le coup même si ça ressemble à un pokémon Go.

Avignon está localizada às margens do Rio Ródano em Provença-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur. Esta cidade é conhecida como Cidade dos Papas, pois era ali que viveram por aproximadamente 100 anos, antes do Vaticano. A arquitetura medieval gótica pode ser observada por todos os lados, o que torna a cidade linda de uma forma especial.
O Palácio Papal foi descrito como altamente fortificado por estar rodeado pelo Rocher des Doms.
A parte interna do Palácio é adroanda com decoração e pinturas do século XIV.
É magnífico...

A must-see in Avignon. I recommend getting a tour guide though as you are left to your own devices to get the history.

Une grande déception personnelle, d'extérieur imposant et remarquable mais a l'intérieur...du vide. 7 pieces accessibles, seulement 2 décorés (chambre du pape et chambre du cerf), certes magnifiques de par leurs peintures, mais d'un vide aussi grand que ma déception.
Les rares objets sous vitrines n'ont pas pour origine le palais ou bien ses ornementations mais des restes de carreaux d'arbalète, sympa pour un musée des armées, pas pour le palais des papes. Les seules ornementations dignes de ce noms sont des pavés, sous vitrines, quand nous marchons sur du carrelage du XXIe siècles.
Pas de vitraux, pas de tentures, de peintures, 5 reliefs, 3 sculptures... Des pièces aussi grandes que le vide qui les comblent.
Il suffit de voir le jardin, en un mot pitoyable.

Zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Vrij lëg van binnen maar wel indrukwekkend. Tijdens ons bezoek was een restauratie gaande.

Il palazzo è bello ed interessante la sua storia.
Peccato che abbiano sostituito l'audioguida con un tablet ingombrante e che distrae dalla visita, poco utile.
Molti gradini ,tenerne conto per chi deambula con difficoltà.
Alla biglietteria specificare bene cosa si vuol vedere,a noi hanno fatto un biglietto senza giardini ( che avevamo richiesto).

Avant même d'entrer c'est compliqué : la billetterie est à l'opposé de l'entrée !
Ensuite, prix excessivement cher (17€ pour le palais, le jardin et le pont) pour voir des murs sans décorations, des portes et des accès fermés. On n'a même pas pu monter au sommet.
On s'est plus amusé sur le pont d'Avignon qu'au palais des papes.
