LA VACHE À CARREAUX
Restaurant offering cheese-based dishes in an original setting in Avignon.
An address that over the years has become a small institution in the hearts of Avignon residents. It is located in a charming paved alleyway, halfway between Place de l'Amirande and Place des Châtaignes. Open only in the evening, this restaurant offers almost exclusively dishes made with cheese. The place has a friendly and original setting, with a room with a pretty character - exposed stone walls, small arch and subdued light. A second room (rather reserved for groups) is a few meters from the main entrance. In the latter, a multitude of poems stuck jumbled to the wall. Traditional French cuisine, beautiful wine list.

Les fondues au fromages sont très bonne et copieuse mais le pain n'est pas très bon
Les fondues à la viande font très envies
Allez y si vous avez envie de fondues
The wine list tempting is varied but too regularly served either cold or hot... terribly, too " chambré" at max. prices extended... Disappointing! A place for young perhaps, but for lovers of wines and cheeses, not so safe...
