DOMAINE LE PUY DES ARTS

Wine Cellar Wine House
5/5
1 review

It is a small estate on which three generations of the Théric family have succeeded one another. Marcellin, the grandfather, had rehabilitated the wells to bring it back to life. Mathias Théric works in the family tradition, in the old-fashioned way: his wines are made from grapes harvested and sorted by hand, but his taste for independence and his desire to make subtle and astonishing vintages are worth the detour! Just up there, a few metres from the family estate, he has created a cellar to welcome wine lovers. This is where you can taste his wines.

CHÂTEAU TURCAN

Winery

It is a domain that is handed down from generation to generation, in a privileged location. It includes the cellar, the Museum of Wine Arts and Crafts, an opportunity to discover ancient monumental wine presses and ancient wine-making tools, a reception room and a gîte set up in a dwelling dating from 1750. Dominated by the Mourre Nègre, the vineyard of 18 ha is in one piece grouped around the cellars. This is how red wines with a strong personality, concentrated and balanced are born in the tradition. Favourite: "L'Agitateur", named after a piece in the museum.

DOMAINE DES MARCHANDS

Winery

For over 20 years, the Pichot family has linked its history to that of Domaine des Marchands. As independent winegrowers, they offer a variety of wines ranging from the most uninhibited to the most gourmet.he growing methods adopted are in line with the global approach of sustainable agriculture, with a measured and justified use of inputs, while seeking to reconcile production and preservation of the environment. The Cuvée des Enfants - AOP Luberon - offers delicious, aromatic wines in the great tradition of southern wines. Les Terrasses, on the other hand, embody gourmet, elegant wines, combining complexity and balance thanks to meticulous plot selection and controlled yields. As for the IGPs, they are made with an emphasis on lightness and fruit. Several of these nectars won awards in 2023. The winegrowing family awaits you at the boutique for visits and tastings.

CHÂTEAU SAINT-ESTEVE-DE-NERI

Winery

Alexandra and Allan Wilson have owned this estate since 2002. 20 hectares of vines in a single block on a clay-limestone terroir produce wines in all three colors, made from Grenache noir and blanc, Syrah and Ugni blanc grapes, which have been AB certified since 2010. The cellar, which backs onto a hillock for quality ageing, is another asset, as is the winegrower's know-how in combining modern techniques with traditional methods. All production is bottled on the estate. Rosés and whites are quickly bottled, while red wines are matured in oak barrels or concrete vats.

PÂTISSERIE VOLPERT

Patisserie

Théodore Volpert is a pastry goldsmith; he's not even 30, and since 2019 his reputation has been attracting gourmets from all over the Luberon. We come for the classic tarts, millefeuilles, operas, éclairs, macaroons... And you'll fall for the creations: Saint-Elzéar, Sainte-Delphine - saints celebrated locally in Provence - and Mistral qui chasse les nuages, unless it's a cake in homage to Frédéric Mistral, the bard of the Provencal language. In honor of the finest local produce, Le Cévennes has the flavor of chestnuts.
